Salt Lake County Planning Commission

This body of volunteers approved by the County Council meets monthly to make recommendations to the Council on general plans, zoning ordinances, and more.

Mountainous Planning District Planning Commission

This Planning Commission recommends policies to preserve the mountain environment, enhance the quality of living and manage uses in the mountains. It includes the areas of Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons, Mill Creek Canyon, and Parelys Canyon (excluding the Towns of Alta and Brighton).

Salt Lake Council of Governments (COG)

The Salt Lake County Council of Governments (COG) is made up of the mayors of each municipality in the county, as well as a city council representative from each of the cities of the first class.
