Butterfield Trailhead Regional Park

Butterfield Trailhead Regional Park provides more than 13 miles of multi-use trail within the Southwest Canyon Trails Network, with a trail that connects to Yellow Fork. Use of this park is specific to trails only. The regional park is a partnership between Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation, Kennecott Rio Tinto, and Bureau of Land Management. In addition to trails, the regional park will have a trailhead/parking lot. 

The Southwest Canyon Trails Network includes Rose, Yellow Fork, and Butterfield canyons.

On August 31, 2023, the first 13+ miles opened at Butterfield Trailhead Regional Park.

Parking

The trailhead parking lot is under construction. Estimated completion is December 2023.

A temporary trailhead parking lot is available near the intersection of U-111 and Herriman Hwy. It’s location is shown the trails map.

Equestrian/trailer parking is currently available at Yellow Fork trailhead.
