COVID-19 reduced the number of inmates at the Salt Lake County jail and required other changes to the correctional and court systems. COVID- 19 is a factor in the decrease in ICE Detainers placed on incarcerated individuals in 2020 and 2021. As conditions normalize, there may be an upward trend in detainers. Trends in this area will be closely monitored and data will be updated annually.
