Pets for Patriots Pet Adoption Program

Salt Lake County Animal Services is the only municipal shelter in Utah to partner with Pets for Patriots, Inc., a nonprofit that saves lives of people and pets through companion pet adoption for United States military veterans.

Working with Pets for Patriots, Salt Lake County Animal Services gives local veterans, active duty military members and their families the gift of unconditional love and hard to place animals a second chance. This helps us place hard-to-adopt pets with good people who need or want a companion pet, and save these animals from becoming permanent shelter residents

To reduce the chance that these pets are surrendered, the charity sends a $150 gift card upon proof of adoption to help with food and other essentials, and provides access to local veterinarians who agree to offer ongoing discounted care. Salt Lake County Animal Services offers a waived adoption fee to members, as a thank you for their service. (Excludes: Puppies & VIP's)
