Aging & Adult Services is still open during the coronavirus outbreak, but some of our programs are operating with new procedures to protect public health.
AAS serves older adults aged 60+ and their caregivers. Eligibility requirements remain in place for all our programs and services. To sign up for services, call (385) 468-3200.

New Client Intake
New client intake is being conducted by the outreach team via phone. To sign up for services, call the outreach team at (385) 468-3200.
Senior Centers & Congregate Meals
Senior Centers are slated to reopen on April 19th. AAS is still offering drive-thru meal pickup daily at 15 of our Senior Center locations. Call your center to reserve a meal or for more information. If you aren’t already a member of one of our senior centers, please call the outreach team at (385) 468-3200 to get set up. Note: River's Bend meals are now being served at Sunday Anderson Westside Senior Center.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is operating with new social distancing procedures. Drivers are not entering client homes; meals are placed in a bag and hung on the client’s door handle, and drivers then wait from a distance of ten feet to ensure the client receives their meal.
Rides for Wellness
Rides for Wellness has implemented stringent sanitation and precautionary measures. Drivers are sanitizing vehicles after every ride. Individuals who believe they have COVID-19 or other cold/flu symptoms should call prior to receiving a ride.
In-Home Services & Caregiver Support
In-Home Services and Caregiver Support are operating with new social distancing procedures. Case managers are not entering client homes; client communication is being conducted via phone. New intakes for program eligibility are being conducted via phone.
Ombudsman Program
The Ombudsman team are no longer entering long-term residential and nursing care facilities. Case management and client follow-up are being conducted via phone.
Volunteers
Meals on Wheels and Rides for Wellness volunteer programs are still active. All other in-person volunteer activities have been suspended. Friendly visiting and companion volunteers are encouraged to check in on their clients by phone rather than in person. Contact your volunteer coordinator if you have questions about your volunteer activities.
Administration
AAS is working closely with the Salt Lake County Health Department and Salt Lake County leadership to follow CDC recommended practices and guidelines for ensuring staff, client, and volunteer safety. Although the County Government Center is closed as of March 28, 2020, our services are still active and operating.
