Waste

Because inappropriately handled waste is a threat to both environmental and human health, the health department regulates the transport, processing, and disposal of different types of waste in Salt Lake County. This includes the permitting and inspection of:

• Landfills and other waste storage facilities
• Septic/Wastewater systems
• Waste (infectious, liquid, and solid) haulers, processors, and recyclers
